Intensities

2018

Intensities uses the space of the image plane; a space of latency and potential, to create photographic traces of our physical environments and communicate it through light. As with all photographs, light is the key component in the formation of these images; taking the light/shadow formations which occur in man-made spaces as the subject. Naoise combines the hyper-contemporary iPhone camera with one of the earliest forms of photographic printing, the cyanotype (prints which are formed from the reaction of sunlight with light-sensitive chemicals), to explore foundational photographic processes and reflect on the relationship between digital and analogue photographic technologies.

Exhibited in group exhibition: Nowheres/Elsewheres.
